Full-Scale Active Assailant Exercise

On Wednesday, December 11th, 2019, the Annapolis Office of Emergency Management (OEM), the Annapolis Fire Department (AFD), and the Annapolis Police Department (APD) will be conducting a Full-Scale Active Assailant Exercise and we need YOU to help us! 

Volunteers will play the roles of victims, survivors, and family members. Youth under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Annapolis OEM will provide free food for all volunteers.

Meinberg and FT-8

This week while working FT-8, I got an email from a fellow I had contacted, Mike Black W9MDB.  He noticed my clock was off a bit and wanted to let me know, and suggested I switch from Dimension 4 to Meinberg.  I told him that i had tried to install Meinberg but couldn't get it to work.  He sent me the following info.

Using Fox Hunting Skills In the Real World

Here is a job posting to put your radio knowledge to work analyzing radio signals to solve interference problems.

Responsibilities

The incumbent performs "watch duty" and serves as a technical authority providing technical assistance and guidance to communication systems users to resolve radio interference complaints and problems; and collects radio signal analysis information.  Uses radio signal analysis equipment deployed throughout the United States to collect, correlate, analyze, characteristics of radio signals involved in interference problems, distress or safety-related signals or other radio signals involved in other high priority activities such as law enforcement or national defense, to include HF, VHF, and UHF.   Collects radio signal analysis information;

Library of Config Files for Mobiles, Handhelds, etc

If any of you would like to contribute your config files for radios to try and help others and get some new hams on the air. Some of these (Chinese) radios can be quite complicated to program the first time.

Fort Washington Fox Hunt April 6

The Fort Washington  Amature Radio Club will be hosting an open FOX HUNT on Saturday April 6 they have provided details for anyone intrested.

When- Sat, April 6, 8am – 12pm Hunt, 12pm - 1pm social

Where- Food Lion Parking Lot 191 St. Patrick's Drive, Waldorf MD if by chance you cannot hear the fox at that location, text 240 682 5436 and I will give you sure location but be sure to use your directional antenna at the start point.

Lunch- BYOGoodies if you want, the fox will have sodas, water, and PB&J sandwiches

Operating Course at National Electronics Museum near BWI
